Happy Fall Y'all

First and foremost: Happy Fall Y'all ! :)

Second: We still don't have cable! Ugh, I could tell you the hour long story, but you would be bored and turned off...and that's not my goal of this blog. But long story short: we have to switch cable company's because they couldn't get a line of sight. So yay for NOT being able to watch our shows...for probably another month :(

Third: Instead of bitching and moaning about our horrific cable story, I decided to go to Hobby Lobby. I mean they had a sale, and it is fall, and I can be pretty crafty. So what better not than to make my own fall decor and document for my fellow bloggers :)

First I started off by visiting Pinterest and getting some inspiration. Then it was all up hill from there....
JK, I had a trial and error moment...and I just had to share!

MY new favorite picture, and my new favorite fall piece
glitter pumpkin.....swoon :)

Then I attempted the "monogrammed" look using burlap and glitter...it looks like hair ...gross!LOL

Round 2

And my final outcome. I love the scarecrow because he greets you with a smile :)

And I used the remaining crafts for a couple centerpieces :)

Hope y'all enjoyed my session of arts and crafts. Now what?
Oh thats right, I still have to finish our room and my vanity....stay tuned bloggers :)

Back to Life, Back to Reality

Finally, we are joining the real world again. We get our cable back tomorrow, and I don't think I have ever been more excited for TV. Its sad really, it has been 6 months since we have been able to watch all of our favorite shows...and the best part about our package, DVR. I have too many favorite shows not to have cable for another month and tomorrow our DVR box is going to hate us for starting so many new recordings.

Our utmost favorite show is How I Met Your Mother. It is BY FAR the best comedy out, and I think I will forever love it. We have to catch up on the most recent season before the new one starts, but thanks to our lovely DVR, we'll be able to do that. And another favorite, Big Bang Theory. CBS you really know how to do it up when it comes to comedy :)

Not only do we get it hooked up tomorrow, but we are considered new customers, so we get the movie channels for 3 months because of our move(suh-weet) Meaning, I (Zachiepoo could care less) get to catch up and watch my two favorite shows: Dexter and True Blood. Dexter's new season starts Oct 2 and True Blood's just ended.

What's your favorite show? Are you a CBS junkie like me? Or maybe just a blood n guts kinda person? :)

Why I love Facebook

Why I love Facebook? I really couldn't think of a more blunt title than that. I began thinking about this a few weeks ago and read this article today, Facebook Now, 2011, and then realized how amazing Facebook really is. But reading comments on the article with people bashing the site for privacy reasons and such is obscure to me. It's the best way to communicate in this era, and has great privacy settings: I mean you can literally block whomever...whenever. So I've decided to blog about it and list a few reasons why I'm addicted to FB :)
  • Its now more popular than Google and hit 500 million users this past July. Wow, that's insane but awesome. Simply thinking about it, there are roughly 300 million of us in the US alone...so your neighbor is likely a Facebook junkie too :)
  • I love being able to connect with about 98 % of my family and 100% of my friends. Seriously, call me lazy, but it is a much quicker way of communicating. Updating your status is like updating your life to your people, without even having to pick up the phone :) Clearly the cell phone business is thriving as well, so its not like we don't still call or text. But c'mon, you know you love reading friends and family members statuses' and letting them know you're interested in their life by "liking" their status or typing a comment. :) It's genius.
  • I can factually say I am part of a trend, because my during my soph year in college our school signed some sort of petition... to be on Facebook, back in 2004/2005. And boy did we become obsessed, and we still are :). A lot has changed on the site in the past 7 years, but it's growing...and its not likely to stop : ) And if it did, I would be super upset and sign whatever petition to get it back and running.
  • As you know, birthdays are great days. Even greater when you get 14529384598358 people to say "Happy Birthday" to you, all because of Facebook's happy reminder or the user looks at "Today's Birthdays" :) Can't you feel the love <3
  • It's not the most important thing in this world, but it is pretty darn sweet. :)
So what's you're top visited site?

I Heart Fall

I just adore fall! <3I mean who doesn't though, seriously? I think I have seen more posts on Facebook and Instagram about how excited he/she is for fall. It's just one of those seasons that has a bunch of new's and starts.

For instance, football: majority of us Americans love football, its a gathering of love really and the season has just begun. And up here, its Michigan State University. GO GREEN, GO WHITE!:)

Second, the trees...the leaves...the hay, ooooh so excited to see all the changes here in Michigan: I hear its somethin' else.

Third, all the amazing holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (okay its winter, but its only 4 days away from the end of fall :D). I love decorations, and this year I'm going to make some sweet decor for our abode. Of course, you know I will blog about it :) Stay tuned, and here are things that excite me for this coming fall.

And fourth, for my ladies, the FASHION: hats, boots, scarves, skinny jeans, leggings, sweaters, bold colors, jackets....etc, etc, etc :)

I think that ranks Fall as being a top ranked season, at least in my book. :)

26 and counting. . .

I totally forgot to mention in the last post that I just celebrated a birthday. A 26th birthday at that. I do love my birthday, probably one of my favorite holidays of the year :D. Everyone should be ecstatic for their birthday, its your day of birth: and if you're like me, my husband, or Barney from How I Met Your Mother, then you're awesome. And awesome people love celebrating their birthdays. I got to celebrate with almost the whole gang here in Michigan, and it was rather fun :).
However, it did make me realize that I am 4 years closer to 30,  30??? Oh my, where did time fly? Seriously, hitting 25 was fun because I got to rent a car for lesser than that of a 24 yr old; but where does 26 get me? Unknown because apparently to most 26 +...its all down hill from here.

Well screw that, I'm not gonna let a two digit number stand in my way of happiness, just gotta keep reminding myself of the goods in life, to override the bads.
For instance, my goods:

  •  I have never been told I look my age, always younger, ALWAYS. No, I mean I get carded to buy cigars and get into places 18+.  Apparently I still look like a high schooler, yay. How bout' I thank myself in 4 years when I hit the big 3-0.
  • I possess a degree, a BS in Psychology. Do I have a job that requires my degree? No, but I do thank my lucky stars I found a job and make half of what I "should be making" (according to my former career counselor and jobs.com); but compared to my previous waitressing, beer promotions, and telemarketing jobs: it is awesome and makes me feel more of a 26 year old.
  • I have a great family and some pretty awesome friends, and without Facebook I would know nothing of their lives: thank you to the founders of Facebook, for you rock.
  • I'm married to the most incredible man, and I thank 11:11, eyelashes, shooting stars, and birthday candles for him, at least I got one of my wishes granted <3

So see, if you're ever in a negative state, remind yourself of all the goods that surround you and it will help you forget the bads.

Or, do what this says:

Our Humble Abode

Humble Abode: perfect phrase for our new rental, well new to us anyways :) . Zach and I have been living here for about 2 weeks now, and we are about half way finished with unpacking and home furnishings.
Something that keeps happening to me is the decorator that seems to burst out of me every time I (now we) move into a new place.  Its instilled in me, actually maybe that is the artistic talent I have. Like for instance, my sisters :my oldest sister, Rosie, is no doubt the best artist I know: she is amazing, and has no idea how amazing she is. My second to kin sister, Teresa, is also an incredible artist with design abilitie; and to think I thought I had only dance abilities. Well, I think I proved myself wrong :)

We have been using things that we have acquired from our wedding (gifts and actual wedding decor) to decorate and it sure is a nice remembrance from our special day :).

First, we finished the kitchen because I have been craving to cook something. Ok, let's face it I can't really cook all that great, but I sure can bake. I love to bake, being that I am a sweet-aholic and all. I also got a bit crafty on myself and used old magazine pages and frames to make wall decor for the kitchen, half bath, and my future vanity.

Next we partially finished the living room. We are waiting to get a desk from our sister and finding the right frames and prints for our wedding photos. But for now, here is what we have done. :)

And our welcoming statue right at the front door. No, really, she is Shakka, the goddess of welcome :)

The half bath is pretty cute; my favorite is the frog about to jump out at ya :)

And here is a sneak peek of our bedroom, along with the picture I made for my vanity. I can't wait to decorate our room! :)

Stay tuned until next time :)
